Welcome to Holistic Nutrition!

The majority of chronic conditions are due to imbalances caused by diet, lifestyle, stress, and environmental factors. Genetics can also play a role, but according to Epigenetics, certain genes can be switched on or off.

Although we are all similar, we are also individuals with varying lifestyles and requirements. There are, however, certain fundamentals to follow for good health, and my approach to this includes Food, Hydration, Movement, Relaxation, Sun & Fun based on your bio-individuality.

The Nutritionist's role in Nutritional Therapy:

A Nutritionist will educate you in the core foundations of nutrition, help you discover what is imbalanced, recommend an efficient and sustainable approach that fits cohesively with your life, and guide you along your wellness journey.

The client's role in Nutritional Therapy:

The client should be committed to their personal health, learn the knowledge of what it takes to live a healthful lifestyle, focus on the recommendations of Food, Hydration, Movement, Relaxation, Sun & Fun as discussed, and have a positive mindset.

"If you are positive you'll see opportunities instead of obstacles." Confuscious

Testing:

Blood Labs & Analysis: Why have me order and analyze your labs? As a Blood Chemistry Specialist, I don't just look at the numbers and say "They're in range, you're good to go!" I look for patterns that show imbalances and dysfunction. The typical allopathic lab ranges are fairly broad, so markers can be in the "normal" range, but still be an imbalance that can quickly progress to a diagnosable pathology, such as Diabetes. Functional lab ranges are tighter so imbalances can be caught and addressed before a pathology is diagnosed.

Functional Testing: OATs, GI Map, DUTCH, OMEGAs,: These tests check various systems such as the microbiome, neurotransmitters, digestion, brain health, energy, and more.

*Although nutrition plays a very important role in mental health, any mental, behavioral, or emotional disorders should be evaluated by a licensed mental health practitioner prior to beginning any program. If appropriate, HiH can communicate with your mental health therapist to design a nutrition plan that works cohesively with your therapy.
